Making Waves

I captured this image of a female Northern Cardinal in a puddle on July 23rd, 2017. On this day, I was watching a nearby bird feeder and noticed this female Northern Cardinal (males are bright red) bathing in this puddle in my driveway. I wanted most to capture the fine, string-like texture of the feathers under it's wing, as well as the facial details. I also wanted to capture the detailing of the layers of it's wing feathers and the multiple sets of ripples in the puddle due the reflection of the blue sky contrasting with the asphalt throughout the entire image.

Printed on Hahnemühle Torchon paper. Limited to 300 productions per size.

Framed prints are available in 20" x 16" and 30" x 24" sizes.
